About License Verification in Help4jHelp4j provides you with tens of thousands of examples on how Java is commonly used. These examples are based on the analysis of many open source projects that are publicly available on the Internet and that allow commercial use. It is important to note that all code examples and associated source files are copyrighted by their respective copyright owners. If you intend to use an example in your source code, it is your responsibility to verify the license. We only provide a starting point for determining the license.
INVENTIVIO GMBH DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE LICENSE OR THE LICENSE TERMS SHOWN ARE VALID, COMPLETE OR CORRECT. What is the rationale for this?Help4j uses sophisticated analysis of a large amount of open source software to find best practices, examples, utility functions etc. that raise developer productivity. Help4j is based on an analysis of more than 100 000 publicly available classes. While we have analyzed their license terms in part manually, in part through automated algorithms (which has led to eliminating many potential source files in the process) it is not possible to check the license terms of every source file in every detail and for every possible restriction. Even complete manual checking of every file would still face the problem that a source file in an open source distribution might violate the copyrights of a third party and should not have been included in that distribution in the first part. Furthermore, some source files might have inconsistent license terms or terms buried somewhere else in the source file might contradict the license terms. Therefore it is always necessary for you to carefully verify the license. We can only provide a starting point for your legal analysis. With this goal, we provide you with the location where the source file was obtained from as well with what our semi-automated analysis has indicated are likely license terms. But you can not rely on the latter as THE license terms. We are very concerned about copyright issues. If you should encounter an error in the license terms that we display, or if you have indications of a copyright violation in some of the source code distributed with Help4j, please notify us immediately by sending an email to license@inventivio.com. The email should contain the class and package name(s) of the class(es) and explain the license problem that you have found. |
